Bridal Beauty Tips and Advice

The Dos

*If you possibly can, use a professional makeup artist with whom you can have a pre-wedding day consultation and book an appointment for an on-location service.

* Have your makeup done just before dressing

* Make sure your foundation is matched to your d?lletage .  This is particularly important if you are wearing a strapless gown.

* Have a facial and have a back "facial" if your back breaks out since your skin needs to be clean and polished.   If facials are a new treatment for you, it is recommended that you have monthly facials starting at least three months prior to your wedding.   You should schedule your pre-wedding facial at least 48 hours prior to your wedding day.

* Use powdered rice papers to eliminate shine.

* Use a medium to light lipstick with a thin layer of gloss in you are having black and white photographs taken.

* Exfoliate the lips.  Lipstick will stay on longer and look smoother.

* Use a primer before foundation to keep it  on longer, and use an eye shadow primer to prevent shadows from creasing.  This is particularly important if you are having videos made.

* Use translucent powder to set all makeup.

* Have your makeup done as close to the ceremony as possible.

* Make sure all lines are blended.  As an example, if you are using a lip pencil, use a lip brush to even out the definition.

* Use eye drops to prevent redness.

The Don'ts

* If at all possible, don't do your makeup yourself  if you are not trained on the "how tos."

* Don't make a mask of your foundation.

* Don't use too many shimmery products on dry skin.

* Don't overuse lip gloss, keep it to a minimum.

Wedding Hairstyles for Brides, Bridesmaids, and Flower Girls

Bridal Star Hairstyles magazine (#52). Is that a picture of Carrie Underwood's wedding hairstyle? Not exactly. Even though she's on the cover of this bridal magazine, she didn't get married yet.

The reason she's there is because, according to the beauty editors, "Carrie Underwood's become one of the most celebrated and glamorous stars in the country music industry."

This issue has the editors' picks for the 25 best celebrity updos, and the poll results revealing the 100 Most Romantic hairstyles of the year.

Professional hairstyling advice for brides is given by leading celebrity stylists. You can learn how to do the wedding hairstyle of Katie Holmes. There are photos of 350 dream bridal looks plus tips on curls, color, accessories, extensions, veils, and makeup.

News on the top formal celeb hair trends could inspire you. The featured styles of celebrities include: Christina Aguilera's curls; Eva Longoria's upsweep; Jessica Alba's updo; and Ali Larter's waves.

The newly engaged country singer has some simple requests when it comes time to tie the knot with her hockey player fiancé Mike Fisher. "[I want] a groom, good food and an open bar," Underwood, 26, tells PEOPLE on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards at Los Angeles's Nokia Theatre. She may not know who's designing her wedding dress yet – or have picked a wedding date – but Underwood has some thoughts about how she plans to look on her big day.

"I'm Southern," she says. "I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding day to be me, so I'll probably be rocking some big hair and some eyeliner."

Underwood, who just released her third album Play On, will kick off her tour in March – but she has a strategy for staying in touch with Fisher while they're apart. "We're big texters," she says. "We talk on the phone. I-Chatting, I don't know what we'd do without it to be honest – and face time is the most important."

As for her fiancé, Underwood says, "he looks good in pictures – but he looks better in person."
